| Knowing "beans" is why you are here
to learn
more
from others. This ChefDesk
folder will help you contact other online chefs and
perhaps learn more about "beans" from them. What is a mailing list?
A mailing list is a discussion group conducted via e-mail. The list may be moderated -
that is it may have a leader who acts as editor of the messages - or unmoderated, where
anything goes. Every e-mail message that is sent to the list is automatically distributed
to everyone else who has "subscribed" to the list.
When you subscribe to a list, the first message you usually get is a list of
instructions for participating in the mailing list. Keep these instructions in a safe
place - you will need them if you ever want to change the way you interact with the list,
or if you want to cancel your subscription.
Whats so great about subscribing to mailing lists?
- They're free.
- They're a great way to network with others who share your interests.
- You can easily have private conversations with others by e-mailing them directly,
instead of going through the list.
