ChefDesk PRIVACY POLICY

ChefDesk is committed to maintaining a web site that builds our users' trust and confidence on the Internet and protecting their personal information. The following statement sets forth the privacy policy of ChefDesk and, by using our site, you agree to accept the terms of our privacy policy.

Information Collection and Use

ChefDesk will not sell, share, or rent any information collected through our site to or with others except as disclosed in this statement.

Personal Information

ChefDesk collects personal information from our users for our own use as follows:

Cookies

A cookie is a piece of data from a web site that is stored on your hard drive. Cookies generated by our site do not include any personal information about you and cannot be retrieved by any other web site. A cookie is written to the hard drive of all users who visit our site, for the purpose of traffic analysis.

Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. You can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, note that many areas of our site, including the order process, will not function properly or may be considerably slower if you refuse cookies.

Log Files

We use Internet Protocol (IP) addresses to analyze trends, administer our site, track users' movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. An IP address is a number assigned to your computer by your Local Area Network or Internet Service Provider. This number identifies your computer on the Internet. IP addresses are not linked to personal information.

Information Sharing

We may share aggregated demographic information of our users with our affiliates or partners. This information is not linked to any personal information that can identify any individual person.

We may share personal information of our users with third parties that provide specific services through our site. When you sign up for these services, we will share your personal information with the applicable third party, but only to the extent necessary for such third party to provide these services. You will be notified when your information is being collected by or shared with any third parties before you enter any personal information. Such third parties are required to sign an agreement to adhere to our privacy policy; however, we cannot be responsible for any third party's failure to comply with our privacy policy.

Choice/Opt-out

We may occasionally send information about products, services, and special offers to our users via e-mails. If you do not want to receive such e-mails, you can "opt-out" of receiving such e-mails at the point where we ask for your personal information. For example, our order form has an opt-out mechanism so users who do not want any marketing material sent to them via e-mail can keep their e-mail address off of our list. Even if you did not opt-out initially, you can opt-out of receiving future e-mails by sending an e-mail to admin_list@chefdesk.com, with the word "Remove" in the subject line.

Security

We take precautions to protect our users' personal information. All personal information (including your credit card number) is encrypted and is protected with the industry-standard encryption software, Secure Socket Layer (SSL). We also take precautions to protect user information off-line. The servers on which we store our users' personal information are kept in a secure environment.

Correction/Updating Personal Information

If you would like to change any contact or billing information, or if you no longer desire our service, you can correct, update or remove your personal data provided to us by Customer Service at scullery@chefdesk.com.

Outside Links and Public Areas

Our site contains links to other web sites. Please be aware that ChefDesk is not responsible for the privacy practices of these other sites. We encourage you to note when you leave our site and to read the privacy statements of such web site. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected through our site.

Please keep in mind that whenever you enter personal information on a "public" venue online --- for example, via Bulletin Boards or Chat Rooms -- that information can be collected and used by anyone. We urge you to use caution when disclosing any private information on these venues.

Children's Privacy Policy

ChefDesk does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not provide any personal information to us.

Consent/Notification of Changes

We may change the terms of our privacy policy from time to time without prior notice to you. Any such changes will be effective immediately upon the posting of the revised policy on this page, so please check this page periodically to view the most current policy.
